Our regional hub in Northumberland is based in North Road, Ponteland, adjacent to the Northumbrian Police Authority Headquarters. For over twenty three years, the site has been home to many people with learning disabilities and we have built up good links and many friends within the local neighbourhood and surrounding areas. In line with all other regions within CARE, our focus is firmly on providing a tailored care package to meet the personal needs of each individual and our aim is to encourage everyone to achieve as much confidence and independence as possible.
On site at North Road, we are able to accommodate 41 people in a variety of accommodation options, currently all registered with CSCI.We are able to offer increased care for people with high needs, such as dementia or challenging behaviour, in two of the houses that have been specially adapted for the purpose, and we also offer specialist support for people that have specific disorders, such as Prada Willi Syndrome.
Off site, we have established a house in Camperdown that provides more independent accommodation for six people, and a further house at Monkseaton, also for six. These houses afford the same tailored support, but our clients are encouraged to live more independently and take greater control over their own lives.
As with all of our accommodation options, our professional staff teams offer 24 hour support with waking night staff available if required. We welcome enquiries for any of our services, particularly from people with Individualised Budgets who would like to discuss how we can assist them to live successfully in the community.
